On Friday, February 1, at Howell Memorial Middle School, on Adelphia Road in Freehold, the PTA will be holding their "first ever paddle auction." 

This is not your everyday PADDLE AUCTION, you won't want to miss these BIG TICKET ITEMS which include but are not limited to David Letterman Show Passes (2); Several Broadway Plays Including, “NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT”  Passes (4) starring Matthew Broderick and“WICKED” Passes (4); Cream Ridge Golf & Cart Passes (4); Camel Back Ski Lift Tickets (4).  SPECIAL RAFFLES will include 50-50 CASH RAFFLE ~ LUCKY-DAY RAFFLE ~ DOOR PRIZE RAFFLE ~ LOLLIPOP RAFFLE.

The doors will open at 6:30 PM, Auction is scheduled to begins at 7:15 PM.  $15 per person admission.  Included in your $15 admission is one paddle, coffee/tea, water, punch, lemonade, baked goods (feel free to bring your own food, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages), and entertainment.

Then depending on what you want to spend during the paddle auction, you need to provide your own rolls of quarters.  Prizes for the Paddle Auction will include gift certificates to local restaurants such as Colts Neck Inn, Woody’s, Mulligans, holiday items, frames, jewelry, kids toys, gift items, house wares, a variety of gift cards, and lots more.  

For those of you who have never been to a Paddle Auction event, here is how it works.  Upon entering the event, you will select a numbered paddle.  A matching numbered ping pong ball will be placed in a separate container.  You hold the paddle.  At the beginning of the auction, we will start with prize #1 and everyone that wants that prize puts their quarter(s) in the container in the middle of the table where they are sitting, then they hold up their paddle.  The ping pong balls are turned and mixed and one ball is pulled.   If your paddle is raised, and the ping pong ball number matches, you win that prize.  So come out, see how it works, win some prizes, and have fun with friends and family, while raising money for Memorial.  If you have any questions, please email Lynn Defreitas @ ldefre@optonline.net or Ellen Catunogno @ elcat235@gmail.com.
