It has been a busy year for the Howell Public Schools and as they wrapped up the academic year the Board of Education took the first part of Wednesday's meeting to recognize a few of the accomplishments.
The Cafetorium at Middle School North was filled with students from schools across the district who were recognized for a wide variety of accomplishments and achievements over the course of the year.
Leading off the recognition was a slideshow of pictures from the district's annual Howell Mania event. The day included not only outdoor track and field events but also a special trip for the students to the Howell Lanes for a day of bowling. Medal winners from the variety of competitions were then called up by members of the board to receive a certificate for their accomplishments.
Wednesday night was also a chance to celebrate the return of the student councils to the district. Each school got a chance to bring up their representatives to share what they did in their first year back.
Several students were also honored for their acceptance into the All Shore Intermediate Band and the New Jersey Youth Symphony Orchestra. Others were recognized for their community service work.
The full list of the students and their recognition are attached to this story.
