The fire that occurred on Howell Court on Saturday is currently under investigation by the Howell Fire Bureau.
Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Police Department said when officers responded to the scene they found a backhoe "fully engulfed in flames." The backhoe, she said is owned by MNC Contracting Inc. of Holmdel.
The Ramtown Fire Company was able to put the fire out. Representatives from the Howell Office of Emergency Management, the Monmouth County Hazmat team and the Howell Fire Bureau also responded to the scene.
