Freehold Resident Charged with Identity Theft

Monmouth County Grand Jury hands down indictments

Beatriz Vega, 27, of Freehold was indicted on one count of third degree impersonation, theft of identity. Between Sept. 1, 2009 and Aug. 1, 2012 is charged with "obtaining personal identifying information," of a person in Howell, Freehold Township and Freehold Borough.

The indictment from a Monmouth County Grand Jury said Vega committed the crime, "for the purpose of obtaining or attempting to obtain a pecuniary benefit of a value in excess of $500 or services, or avoid the payment of debt or other legal obligation or avoid prosecution for a crime by using the name of the other person."

She is also charged with one count of third degree uttering a simulated document for having a Social Security card or permanent resident card that did not belong to her.

In other indictments:

Samuel A. Cottrell, 53, of Jackson was indicted on two counts by a Monmouth County Grand Jury.

Cottrell is charged with one count of third degree forgery. On or about Aug. 13 Cottrell is alleged to have illegally filled out a prescription blank. He also faces one count of third degree attempted obtaining of a controlled dangerous substance for attempting to improperly get a prescription for oxycodone.

Jamie Shaw, 32, of Farmingdale and Julie Murdoch, 47, of Bayville were indicted on two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. On or about Aug. 9 Shaw and Murdoch were arrested in Neptune for being in possession of cocaine and heroin 

Joseph J. Daniels, 21 of Redwood Road was indicted on one count of third degree burglary. On or about Sept. 24 Daniels is alleged to have illegally entered a car in Freehold Township. 

Lance A. Virzi, 26, of Seaside Heights was indicted on one count of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance when he was found  with heroin in the township on or about July 16.
