Friday's Storm Update Shows Fewer Outages

Work to continue on power in Howell

As the week ends in Howell the administration sent out an update on Friday morning with more information about the power situation in the township.

For those driving through Howell there are still several lights that are out of commission including Stanley Blvd., Georgia Tavern Road and East 5th Street. The number of road closures has also decreased since yesterday but the township said Route 547 is still closed between Oak Glen road and Victory Road and Southard Ave. is closed from Route 524A and Manassa Road. The administration said at this time Victory Road is "passable."

The latest map from JCP&L shows 3,749 outages in Howell, which is an improvement from the more than 5000 outages which were reported just last night. "We are aggressively dealing with JCP&L to get specific information regarding outages and estimated times," an email from the township said.

Residents are not the only ones struggling with outages on Friday morning. The email from the township said the phone lines and mail at the new Municipal Building are "not in service," either.

Same here...we are all out of power along Five Points Road. Are we being counted as part of Freehold? Sae TECO (Tampa) truck earlier on patrol and they assumed we had power because the Rye 33 traffic light was working!!!

Who are they kidding. Lost cable yesterday, but lights are on. Light at 9 and Aldrich Rd out again, and all stores in aldrich plaza without power. Went to work this morning, all lights on 9 from Aldrich up to Twin Pond Farms out. More cones across Rt 9 entrances. What the hell is going on here?

How about the majority of woodstone has power, and candle wood that I right behind us also has power. The development of oak glen which is next to us has power, but the houses on Berkshire drive don't. Should we assume that JCP&L think we have power. Called them numerous times and they don't have an explanation for it. Seriously someone needs to figure this out my thermostat reads 58 degrees!!!

After Aldrich Plaza lost power again yesterday, cable went out in Candlewood. Took a day and on hold for 40 mins at a time to finally get a live person. They don't know why it is out, only that there is an outage. I think they are full of crap! Seems to me, JCP&L screwed something up that damaged the cable wires. We have power but no cable now!

The Governor says all will be repaired by Sunday. I suggest everyone start calling his office rather than JCP&L!

Oak Glen totally out with the exception for a few houses in the middle of Starlight and lower end of Princeton. They never lost even with Sandy. Can we all get on that grid?

Now the JCPL site says 43% of those without power in Howell will be restored by Sunday! So much for their Saturday prediction

I'm pretty sure they are deleting outage reports. Checked this morning and they didn't have the one I put in listed anymore so i resubmitted it.

As of 5:00 am this morning still no power on Berkshire Drive and T-stat reads 57. Hopefully, when I return from work this evening I'll be pleasantly surprised. I know this is a difficult time but at least most of us in Howell still have our homes. My heart goes out to the people less fortunate. Bundle Up, read a book or play some games with the family. This too will pass! :-)

No power on 15 or for that matter all of Berkshire Drive. JCP&L states only 421 in Howell without power from their website this morning. Maybe by tonight fingers crossed!

Only 352 more to go. To think, 25% of the total is Berkshire Drive. Luck of the draw. Huh? Almost there.
