On most days Stephanie Marie Hanvey is like any other freshman walking the halls of Howell High School. Recently she took her talents as a singer to a larger stage competing on MSG Varsity's Talent Show.
This is the second season of the show and MSG Varsity's General Manager Theresa Chilianis said Hanvey is part of a very gifted group. "We've seen so many talented high school students throughout the audition process and we're excited to give these 32 gifted solo performers and ensembles a high profile platform to perform for their families, friends and local communities," she said.
The show is is hosted by former American Idol contestant Jared Cotter with big prizes on the line for the winners. The winner in Hanvey's Individual Vocalist category wins a two-day professional studio experience to make a demo CD or video and custom cover art. There is also a professional photo shoot involved.
Hanvey is one of three contestants from New Jersey in the competition and the only competitor from Monmouth or Ocean County.
Voting for this week's show wraps up on Thursday at 9 a.m. so be sure to help Hanvey move on to the next show!
