UPDATE: Stolen Urns Identified and Returned to Tinton Falls Cemetery
Police seek help returning items to families
A traffic stop in town yielded an unexpected find for Ptl. Michael Pavlick of the Howell Police Department.
Following a search of a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica belonging to township resident Nicholas Tashjian, Pavlick found what he suspected to be heroin. Also in the car was a collection of 10 cemetery urns.
After an investigation it was determined that the urns were taken from the Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery in Tinton Falls. Tashjian has been charged with third degree possession of stolen property and also faces drug charges from the traffic stop.
