Howell Police Update Fort Plains Road Break-In

Three men sought in Sunday incident

The Howell Police Department is seeking three black males they believe are the suspects involved in the early Sunday morning breakin on Fort Plains Road.

Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd said that the three men allegedly broke into the house at 1:44 on Sunday morning and that one of them reportedly had a gun. The three men woke up the residents of the house who were home and sleeping at the time when Dodd said they went into the adult's bedroom.

The homeowners were then reportedly pepper sprayed and the one holding the gun hit the female adult in the head with his hand. The man was also reportedly punched in the head by one of the men. Dodd said the children in the house were unharmed. She said the Howell First Aid Squad was sent to the scene but that the family declined medical treatment.

Dodd said the three men covered their heads and faces to hide their identity. One man is described as being close to six feet tall with a medium build, a third is reportedly 5-5 with a medium build and the third is between 5-8 and 6-0 with a heavy or stocky build.

It is possible that the family knew the suspects according to Dodd. The case is being investigated by Det. Nancy Carroll.
