Howell Public Schools Conducting Kindergarten Survey
District exploring full-day kindergarten
As the local school district explores implementing full-day kindergarten a survey is being conducted to gauge the public's interest in the new program.
The survey, which can be found on the district's website is designed for parents of preschoolers, kindergarteners and first grade students. Currently the district offers a half-day program and works with the Howell PAL for more educational time for the young students.
If they opt to pursue full-day kindergarten Superintendent Enid Golden said areas like staffing, facilities and costs will have to be explored as well. Golden said she believes the change could be needed as the state implements new common core standards.

Why isnt the Board exploring the cost before put it out to get a feel for what the people may want. and i have a hard time understanding the statement.... Golden said she "believes the change could be needed" as the state implements new common core standards. What do mean Golden BELIEVES, come back when you know. With all the facts. We can no longer sustain the expenses associated with this way of thinking, if there is something missing please advise us.
