Howell Resident Indicted on Weapons Charges

Monmouth County grand jury hands down three count indictment

Christopher Cashman, 25, of New Friendship Road was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury on three charges stemming from an incident on or about Jan. 31 of this year.

Cashman faces one count of second degree unlawful possession of a weapon when he was found to have a handgun without a permit to carry the weapon. He also faces one count of fourth degree unlawful sale of a firearm for attempting to sell a .22 caliber Center Arms handgun without being legally allowed to do so.

The third count of the indictment is fourth-degree certain person not to have a weapon. That charge stems from having been convicted on Jan. 3 for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and purchasing, owning, possessing or controlling a weapon, specifically a .22 caliber Center Arms handgun.
