Complaint warrant states that employee was a Law Enforcement Officer.
Freehold Township Police responded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) Wednesday, after an inmate allegedly assaulted a MCCI employee.
James Younger, 49, of Neptune, allegedly struck an employee, who is a Law Enforcement Officer at the MCCI, in the face with his elbow. After being hit, the officer fell to the ground and further injured himself.
The complaint warrant explains that the officer was in uniform and preforming his duties when he was hit.
According to the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, Younger was originally brought into the MCCI after he failed to pay a fine. For the alleged assault, Younger faces a charge of aggravated assault and an additional $15,000 in bail.
