Local Businesses Collecting Items for Sandy Victims
Many items being collected
When Hurricane Sandy hit Howell the storm brought mostly heavy rain and strong winds which caused damage to some homes and knocked out power to residents for a week or more.
Just a few towns away the storm brought near total devastaion for families who lost everything they owned in a very short period of time. In an effort to help those people Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center and Young's Appliance are taking up a collection of a variety of items.
For those people able to help the companies released a list of items they are collecting including:
- Toilet Paper
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Non-Perishable Food Items
- Bottled Water
- Empty Cardboard Boxes
- Medical Supplies (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Bandages, etc)
In a press release the two longtime local businesses said any help will be appreciated by the people that receive the items. "Together we can combat the devestation caused by Sandy," the release said. "Please take a moment to look in your homes or purchase any of the items above to provide to those so very much in need of your help."
