PAL Offers Camp for Aspiring Dancers

Starts Monday at old Southard School

Ariana Dunbar has been dancing since she was just a little over 2-years-old and now she is using her talents to give back to the community she grew up in.

Starting on Monday Dunbar will be holding a camp at the PAL building which used to be the Southard School to teach a variety of dance techniques. Sessions will include styles like ballet, jazz, hip-hop and modern as well as a combination for dancers from 2-to-5-years-old.

Dunbar has experience dancing not only in FPAC during her high school games but also at Salve Regina University and at the professional level. During her time as a professional she has placed in the top 30 in tryouts with the Philadelphia 76ers, danced at Six Flags Great Adventure and performed as an opening act for several big stars in the music business.

She has also served as the Dance Competition Team and Dance Teacher at Old Bridge high School as well as the President and a trustee of the Howell PAL Youth Leadership Group.

Working in the community is also not new for Dunbar. She won the National PAL Youth Female of the Year Award for work following Hurricane Katrina and has completed over 600 hours with Americorps.
