The effects of what could be the biggest story of our lives was captured by photographer Tom McKelvey, who caught these images of a small boat trying to navigate heavy surf off the Shark River Inlet Sunday afternoon. 

We are looking for people to provide a service, and inform the readers about the effects of the first hurricane to directly strike the Jersey Shore in recorded history.

This is devastating to me. I left New Jersey nearly thirty years ago as a child and have wished I was there ever since. Now my dreams of returning to the same state, with ALL of the same buildings there when I left are shattered. -christine in Texas :(
