Roosevelt Avenue Fire Results in No Injuries

Several local departments respond to blaze

A fire was reported on Roosevelt Avenue at 3:40 on Wednesday afternoon that brought most of the local fire departments out in response.

Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Police Department said the fire was reported by neighbors and flames could be seen when officers arrived on scene. Dodd said the house had been vacant for close to six months and there were no injuries reported at the scene. 

Freewood Acres was the closest fire department to respond. They were joined by representatives from the Adelphia, Southard, Squankum and Jackson Fire Departments. The Howell Fire Bureau and Monmouth County Fire Marshalls office also repsonded to the scene as did the Howell First Aid, Farmingdale Howell First Aid and Ramtown First Aid Squads.

The fire is being conducted by Ptl. Jesse Moore and Det. Nancy Carroll of the Howell Police Department.
