Short School Week and Interesting Meetings Ahead
Plenty to do in and around Howell this week
With Rosh Hashanah starting on Sunday night the Howell Public Schools and the Freehold Regional High School District will be closed on Monday and Tuesday making for a short week for teachers and students.
While the Howell Township Council meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled because of the holiday the Farmingdale Borough Council will meet for what figures to be a memorable event. After a summer where the entire council except for Mayor Jay Morgan resigned, the five people selected by Gov. Chris Christie to fill those seats and the one member selected by the previous council following a resignation will meet for the first time at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday night at 6 p.m. New Jersey American Water is scheduled to hold a public hearing at Town Hall to discuss sewer rates according to the township's website. A similar hearing is also scheduled for Oct. 3 at 2 p.m.
On Friday Monmouth County will be holding a job fair at the Police Academy on Kozloski Rd. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
