Howell Township has two memorials honoring 9/11 and first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice. 

The Memorial at Town Hall is made of stone and has the outline of the World Trade Center on the ground and also has a piece of metal from 9/11. There is also rock similar to the ones found in the field where Flight 93 came down. 

The Squankum Fire Department also has a memorial made of bricks and also has a similar plaque around the flag pole.
