Township Working to Resolve Power Problems
Thousands still in the dark after Sandy
At 9:30 on Sunday morning a little more than 10 thousand Howell residents were without power as a result of Hurricane Sandy with temperatures in the 40's and expected to drop back into the 30's at night.
In an email from the township administration, Mayor Robert Walsh and the council said they have, and continue to work aggressively, pressuring JCPL to provide us with estimated times for restoration."
With so many residents in the dark a week after the storm the email said they have gone directly to the utility to see when they might see the power grid restored. "They are not providing any information with regards to timelines or specific neighborhoods."
Several parts of town, including the Ramtown section have been in the dark for many days and the administration said it is a problem they are aware of and working on. "We continue to actively pursue all avenues to get accurate information," the said. "We share in everyone's frustrations as most of us enter day 6 with no power."
