Volunteers Wanted for Storm Cleanup

Meet at DPW Saturday morning

The cleanup work from Hurricane Sandy will likely take several months before all the brush and debris has been cleared. As part of that effort the township is asking residents to help clear the roads.

A group of residents is meeting on Saturday morning at the Department of Public Works as a continuation of those efforts. Those residents interested are asked to arrive at 9 a.m. and will work until 1 p.m. picking up trees and brush. Volunteers need to be at least 16-years-old and should expect a day of "very physical work," according to an email sent by the township.

Anyone taking part is encouraged to bring work gloves and work boots as they will not be provided.

They can't be serious.. allowing minors.. 16 yrs. old.. to be engaged in this 'so called clean-up'. I know, personally, what such an endeaver, as this, entails.. been doing it all my life. I would NEVER bring a minor/apprentice on this job. Parents, I beg of you.. for the Safety and Welfare of your children.. please do not allow them to participate in this.
