Chamber Hosts Breakfast Bonanza This Morning

A look at events happening in and around Howell on Tuesday September 17, 2013.

A busy week for the Howell Chamber of Commerce kicks off today with another in the Breakfast Bonanza events.

Local business owners are invited to Calgo Gardens for an early 8 a.m. meeting to discuss topics of interest to them and make new contacts in the community. The Chamber will also be co-hosting a legislative forum on Wednesday at Applewood Estates in Freehold and a golf outing on Thursday at Quail Ridge on Thursday before two ribbon cuttings on Saturday. After the rain on Monday Tuesday looks to be a much clearer forecast with slightly chilly temperatures. The high for today looks to only be near 66 before a low of 43 at night. The temperature will start to rise again after today, approaching close to 78 by the weekend.

In case you missed it yesterday was Collect Rocks Day in addition to Mexican Independence Day and National Play Doh Day. Today is National Apple Dumpling Day as well as Citizenship Day and Constitution Day.

On this date in 1862 the Union army was able to withstand an attack by the Confederates at the Battle of Antietam. It was exactly 75 years earlier that the Constitution was completed and signed in Philadelphia. The popular television show M*A*S*H premiered 41 years ago today on CBS.
