A look at events happening in and around Howell on Friday September 13, 2013.

Michael Jackson may no longer be around but starting this weekend Howell residents can learn to do one of his most iconic dances. The Action Room will be hosting lessons on the Thriller Dance over the next two months. The lessons are free but participants are encouraged to make donations to the Rescue Ridge Animal Rescue.

On Saturday Gold’s Gym will hold a fundraiser for a 20-month-old girl who is battling cancer. For $20 people can buy tickets for a Zumbathon or a Spinathon and the event will also include a silent auction and refreshments will also be served.

Also on Saturday the Jerseyville United Methodist Church will be holding a yard sale. Items for sale include books and household items. The money raised will be used to buy a lift chair for the church.
