It has been several months in the making but the Second Annual Madison Beggs Kicks-4-Kids is back this weekend looking to raise money for several local organizations in memory of a young Howell resident who lost her courageous battle with cancer.
The event is being held at Soldier Memorial Park starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. and will also include a bone marrow drive. The day will include a full slate of competitive soccer games with travel and recreation teams taking to the field in honor of Madison Beggs who died last year at the age of 12 after an almost two year fight with cancer.
If the National Weather Service is correct it should be a beautiful day for soccer as part of an almost flawless weekend. The high for today is expected to be around 70 before a chilly low of 48 tonight. Tomorrow the temperature is expected to rise to around 77 so it should be warm on the fields even with the wind blowing between 5 and 9 MPH over the course of the day.
The low tomorrow will be a still warmer 59 at night before rising back up to 82 on Sunday with a low of 57 to end the weekend.
Today is also a good day to be active as it is Fight Procrastination Day and bookworms can enjoy Read a Book Day.
