Networking Event at Library Thursday Night

A look at events happening in Howell on Thursday October 24, 2013.

A rainy forecast on Wednesday forced the annual Howell-O-Ween Spooktacular to be postponed until Thursday.

The annual event is scheduled to be held at the originally scheduled time of 5:30 and is to include games and crafts as well as a costume contest and a 7 p.m. showing of the film Hotel Transylvania.

Those Howell residents looking to increase their professional networking circle are invited to the Howell Public Library at 7 p.m. for a meeting of the local chapter of Neighbors Helping Neighbors. The group specializes in helping people in job transitions whether that means they are unemployed or underemployed as well as recent college graduates.

The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly sunny day today with a high near 54 expected during the day. When the sun sets the temperature is expected to drop dramatically with a low of 33 expected. The weather will be so cold that there could be patchy frost across our area after 4 a.m.

For those not sure what to have for lunch today the fact that it is National Bologna Day could help sway your final decision. It is also United Nations Day to celebrate the multinational organization located just across the Hudson River.
