Rebalancing Plan Discussion Set for Thursday

A look at events happening in Howell on Thursday December 12, 2013.

Thursday night could be a big step in changing the layout of the Howell Public Schools for at least the next few years to come.

A public information session will be held at Middle School North starting at 7:30 to discuss a proposed rebalancing plan for the upcoming school year. The plan, which can be found here, would move students around the district to different buildings. The biggest changes would be moving students north of Route 33 and in the Adelphia Greens Development to Adelphia School, and students from north of Interstate 195 from Aldrich School to Land O’ Pines. The district’s gifted and talented program would also be moved from LOP to Greenville.

Parents attending tomorrow night’s meeting will want to bring a jacket as the National Weather Service is predicting the first of a streak of freezing cold days. The high is only expected to reach near 30 on a mostly sunny day before a low of just 15 on a mostly clear night.
