Wednesday's Forecast is Calm Before the Storm

A look at events happening around Howell on Wednesday October 9, 2013.

If the National Weather Service is right Wednesday could be the last time we see any sustained sunshine until as late as Sunday.

As part of Fire Prevention Week the Howell Fire Bureau will be at two locations in the area. The bureau will bring their trailer to the Farmingdale School from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and will then take it to the Ramtown Fire Company from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

What is so far being called a prolonged coastal storm is expected to roll across our area tonight through Saturday according to the latest forecasts. The storm could mean minor coastal flooding at high tide and gale force wind conditions are also possible. Inland the wind gusts are expected to be between 15 and 30 MPH increasing to over 35 MPH closer to the shore. By the time the storm is done the forecast for total rainfall is expected to be between 1 and 3 inches.
