Woody's Offers a Meal and a Fundraiser before BOE Meeting

A look at events happening in and around Howell on Wednesday August 20, 2013.

The Howell Public School Board of Education will hold its last meeting of the summer tonight and a Farmingdale restaurant is offering a chance to have a meal before the meeting and help a local family pay some mounting medical bills.

Among the items on the agenda for tonight’s meeting is a report by Superintendent Enid golden on her goals for the upcoming year and a discussion about holding a joint meeting with the Howell Township Council. The two bodies have held joint meetings in the past and will discuss resuming that work this year. Most of the rest of the agenda involves assigning teachers to fill vacancies across the district.

Woody’s Roadside Tavern will be hosting a fundraiser for Jimmy Reilly’s family starting at 5 p.m. The local resident has been battling Multiple Myeloma and the proceeds raised from the night will help to defray costs associated with the illness.
