Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus Presents July Senior Community Programs

Summer Safety for Seniors

Mondays, July 7 & 14 at 2 p.m.

Summertime is finally here! Everyone should enjoy the sunshine and great weather, but also keep safety in mind. Seniors can stay safe this summer by learning the necessary precautions to take during Summer Safety for Seniors. This free program is presented by the Health Coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus and will discuss the precautions that seniors need to take in the summer. Topics include heat illnesses, summer safety, medication precautions and travel safety tips. The July 7 program will be held at the Ocean County Library, Jackson Branch located at 2 Jackson Drive. The July 14 program will be held at the Ocean County Library, Manchester Branch, located at 21 Colonial Drive in Manchester. This program is free but registration is required by calling 732-928-4400 for the July 7 program or 732-657-7600 for the July 14 program.

Chair Yoga

Fridays, July 25 & August 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Join the Center for Healthy Living at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus on Fridays to “get fit while you sit” as they present Chair Yoga, a new exercise class for seniors. Led by Eileen Tremarco, Laksmi Volker Chair Yoga instructor, LVCTY, HHC, Chair Yoga will help you to relax your mind and body from a seated position, without the worry of getting up and down on the floor. Learn how to improve muscle tone, enhance your flexibility, increase circulation and alleviate stiff joints, all while increasing your overall health and feeling of well being. This program will be held at the Center for Healthy Living at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, located at 198 Prospect Street in Lakewood. Growing Older, Staying Healthy

Monday, July 28 at 2 p.m.

How do you stay healthy after age 65 and beyond? What can you expect as you age? These are questions that will be answered by health coaches from the Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus as they present Growing Older, Staying Healthy. The health coaches will also discuss common changes, ailments and conditions that occur as we age. This program takes place at the Ocean County Library, Manchester Branch, located at 21 Colonial Drive in Manchester. This program is free but registration is required by calling 732-657-7600.
