Eagle Scout Court of Honor October 19 at St. Veronica's Church - George R. Reilly

George Robert Reilly was awarded his Boy Scout rank of Eagle on June 18, 2013.  George started on his Scouting Trail as a Cub Scout in Pack 300 in 2002, crossing over to Troop 300 in 2007.  Both Pack 300 and Troop 300 are chartered by St. Veronica's Church in Howell, NJ.  Mr. Jack Pierri is the long-serving Scoutmaster for the Troop.  George's Eagle Project involved the rebadging of the Orange Trail at Allaire State Park.  In addition to installing permanent markers to aid hikers, George's volunteers spent the first weekend in May clearing debris from Hurricane Sandy and scouring all the trails in the South section of Allaire for garbage, as well as cleaning up the Hospital Road parking lot.  Over 250 volunteer hours were logged on this project.  George worked closely with Mark Schneider, Maintenance Supervisor at Allaire, to plan and execute his project.George is a senior at Howell High School.  He is also active in Venture Crew 191 which has led to Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver certifications.  He plans to go to the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base this winter to earn his Divemaster certification.  George also serves as Assistant Scout Master for Troop 300 and works as a busboy at Park Nine Diner in Freehold.  After graduation, George will attend Brookdale Community College.  His career goal is to join the Navy and apply to Officer Candidate School, after which he will apply for BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal).  His ambition is to one day serve his country as a Navy Seal.
