Monmouth County Historical Association Seeks Development and Communications Assistant

JOB POSTING: Development and Communications Assistant
Monmouth County Historical Association located in Freehold, NJ seeks an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to fill the full-time position of Development and Communications Assistant.  The Assistant reports to the Director of Development and Communications and is responsible for all administrative aspects of development and communications activities.  

Areas of development assistance include producing and posting fundraising mailings (regular and bulk), maintaining donor database, processing payments with donor software, producing and posting donor acknowledgement letters, supporting all aspects of fundraising events, and supporting the Development and Communications Director in staffing the Board Development Committee and various volunteer event committees.  

Areas of communications assistance include updating the Association web site, producing  Constant Contact e-blasts, posting Association events and activities on numerous external blogs, websites and e-calendars,  producing flyers and posters as needed, and supporting the Development and Communications Director in staffing the Board Marketing Committee.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communications skills, be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and the use of Constant Contact, and able to prioritize and organize work independently. Experience with InDesign and DonorPerfect software is a plus. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience is required. 

The hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday and starting salary is $28,000 - $30,000.   The position requires occasional night and weekend hours.

Monmouth County Historical Association collects, preserves, and interprets its extensive museum, library, and archival collections that relate to Monmouth County's history and culture and makes these resources available to the widest possible audience.

The Association promotes the study and appreciation of regional and national history through educational programming, publications, special exhibits, and research services. The Association also preserves and interprets five significant historic sites which represent the County's vanishing architectural heritage.
