Boy Scouts Collecting Food For Pantry

You may receive a bag and a flyer on your door or porch, Boy Scout officials say

The Howell Emergency Food Pantry will be the beneficiary of an upcoming food drive by a local Boy Scout troop.

Troop 258 will be organizing a drive on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to noon, to benefit the food pantry.

The troop last year collected more than 9,000 pounds of food for the pantry and organizers this year hope to match or top that number, officials said.

Next week, residents may find a grocery bag with a flyer announcing the drive on doors and porches throughout Howell. Scouts will not knock on your door. Donations are voluntary and silent.

Scouts will pick up the bags between 10 a.m. and noon on June 8. Anyone who does not receive a bag is encouraged to drop off food directly at the Howell Emergency Food Pantry at 450 Elton-Adelphia Road.
