Council Meeting Highlights Quiet Week in Howell

Summer in Howell means a lighter schedule for the governing body and this week marks the only scheduled meeting for the council on Tuesday.

Among the highlights of the agenda is the swearing in of newly promoted officers. Another item on the agenda authorizes the award of a contract for an energy aggregation agreement for the township. This is an idea that has been discussed for several months by the council and the administration and looks to be taking another step forward at this week’s meeting.

There are also public hearings on the agenda for amendments to the land use ordinances in the township and the introduction of a bond ordinance for capital improvements and a capital ordinance for sewer improvements.

After this meeting the council is scheduled to meet again on August 20. The Howell Planning Board is also scheduled to meet on Thursday but that agenda has not yet been posted on the township website.
