Howell PBA Hosting MMA Bout to Benefit Local Groups

Event to be held at Brookdale

With the growing popularity of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) the Howell Policeman's Benevolent Association (PBA) will be hosting an event this weekend to benefit several local charities while providing a night of action packed entertainment.

The event will be held on Friday at Brookdale Community College and will be hosted by Gold Medal MMA, which was formed by local business owners David Franciosi and Marc DiCostanzo. A portion of the proceeds from the night will benefit the Special Olympics, the National Police Memorial and other causes according to a press release for the event.

Earlier this year Franciosi helped bring a similar event to Jackson Liberty High School with the proceeds from that show helping victims of a drunk driving accident. He works as a professional boxing referee and is also the owner and operator of Knockout Pizza in Lakewood. Franciosi is also the President of the Howell Township Police Athletic League.
