Hurricane Preparedness Workshop This Weekend

Township OEM partnering with local businesses to help residents prepare for another big storm.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy the lines at Home Depot and other home improvement stores were out the door and around the corner.

As hurricane season returns the township is hoping to help residents be better prepared in the event another powerful storm makes its way in our direction. The Office of Emergency Management and local businesses will be hosting a hurricane preparedness workshop to share a season’s worth of information in one day.

Held at the Home Depot the workshop will cover a wide variety of topics including storm prep projects, generator safety and assembling disaster preparedness kits according to Township Manager Helene Schlegel. “We urge all residents to attend and always be prepared,” she said.

The workshop will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store located at 1990 Route 9 South.
