Southard FD Hosting Open House Saturday

The Southard Fire Department is one of the most prominently located houses in the township being right on Route 9 and directly next to the new Municipal Building.

In an effort to grow their ranks the department will be holding an open house to not only bring in new members but also re-introduce themselves to the community they serve. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the firehouse. Applications will be available for prospective members but there will also be other sources of entertainment for the community members who come to the event.

As part of the day parents can bring their children to see the department and have their picture taken with some of the big trucks and other pieces of equipment they have around the firehouse. There will also be tours of the house available as well as live music, refreshments and food throughout the day.
