U.S. Senator Congratulates Howell High Senior

A. Jordan Pappas was appointed to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

A Howell High School senior was among a group of students accepted to military academies who were honored recently by U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez.

A. Jordan Pappas was accepted into the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Pappas was among 15 students welcomed to a reception in Menendez’s Newark office.

“Jordan is a remarkable young woman in whom the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy sees enormous promise, and I am very proud to have nominated her,” Menendez, D-N.J., said in a release. “Jordan and all of New Jersey’s young people who will enroll in our nation’s military academies possess exceptional talents and abilities. But what makes me most proud is their personal choice to use their abilities in the service of their country. I am grateful to all of them for their sense of duty as Americans, and wish them God’s speed as they set off to meet the challenges ahead.”
