Union Beach Still in Need of Volunteers and Donations

The makeshift camp is located on Florence Avenue in Union Beach near the fire house.

A makeshift camp of dedicated out-of-state volunteers is still working in Union Beach, attempting to feed and help displaced residents in any way possible.

The soup kitchen, run by citizens from Wisconsin, Oregon and now many residents of New Jersey, is looking for donations and volunteers as the recovery and rebuilding process continues.

They are accepting winter coats, hats, scarves and any winter apparal. There is also a need for children's shoes, of any size or type.

The kitchen is pumping out thousands of meals per day, and has a working kitchen set up in the field. Any food donations are accepted, and go directly to families in Union Beach or any families in need that approach the camp.

If you have questions about volunteering or donations, email Marlboro Township resident Paul Schlaflin at Schlaflin4086@aol.com.
