Grieving and Setting Realistic Goals for the New Year

Facing the New Year without a loved one can be a daunting task! "The Mourning After" bereavement group helps people with recent and not-so-recent losses adjust to the powerful emotions of grieving.

While some people are setting New Years resolutions to quit smoking, loose weight or maintain an exercise program, people who are grieving the loss of a loved one, search for ways to find balance and security in a world that has shifted significantly for them.  The simplest of tasks can now seem overwhelming.  This month’s meeting of “The Mourning After” will focus on managing the powerful feelings of grief and setting realistic goals as we enter the New Year.

“The Mourning After” is a no-fee professionally led grief counseling group.  It will meet this Friday, January 4th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Center Playhouse, 35 South Street, Freehold NJ.  Group facilitators Bob Szita MS, LPC, TEP and Bernice Garfield-Szita MS, LPC, TEP are Co-Founders and Co-Directors of GIERS: Grief Information, Education & Recovery Services a 501c3 non profit organization whose mission is to help people survive and thrive after a loss.
