Does This Sale Make My Butt Look Big? [Poll]

Urban Outfitters' recent window advertising is a bit edgy, at least one person feels.

Apparently, is having a pretty big sale.

Posted in the windows of the Broad Street location of the national clothing/hipster accessory retailer are paper banners advertising a "Big Ass Summer Sale," or, depending on how you read it, a "Big Summer Ass Sale," though we digress.

Though relatively innocuous to nearly everyone walking by the store's windows, the language is decidedly PG, perhaps even borderline mildly edgy, which some might not agree with. At least one upset parent reached out to Patch to register their dismay over the advertising campaign.

A store associate in the Red Bank location reached early Tuesday afternoon said the ad campaign gets handed down from the store's corporate headquarters, so there's that.

How do you feel about the ass ad?

This signage doesn't bother me nearly as much as the soft porn advertisement another trendy Red Bank clothier put up a few years ago. I still kick myself when I think that I didn't say something to the owner. Then again, they did go out of business, so...

Yes, Shannon, your comment says it all, negativity and casual slander really does not create a long term community connection - I always comment on this from a standpoint of being a community member, where, if i heard this from an individual, it wouldnt really bother me, its just a reflection of a a passing feeling, but when something is printed, it is reflected into every passer by-s thought process. Its important to create beauty in all the things we give to the commmunity, not "shock" value, but "chakra" value - things that strengthen and calm , and inform with dignity .

Context and Connotation! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ass So which one (Urban Outfitters or http://www.bigassfans.com/company/) is the bigger offender?

I think it's funny. We walked by the store yesterday and noticed the sale, but didn't connect the big and the ass.
