Community and Business Expo Set For Tuesday

Chamber of Commerce and PAL present event at Southard School

Black Friday and the start of the holiday season is just three weeks away and the Howell Chamber of Commerce is teaming with the local PAL to give shoppers an early job on their gift shopping.

On Tuesday night the first annual Community/Business Expo is scheduled to be held at the old Southard School from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Chamber Executive Director Sue Dominguez said she is hopeful the event will start a tradition in the township. “We really wanted the residents to know what kind of businesses there were in Howell,” she said. “We thought it would be a nice opportunity for people prior to the holidays to do some shopping as well as do some sampling from the restaurants in Howell.

There are expected to be close to 40 vendors at the event that will also include raffles for people in attendance to win some special prizes.

With the Chamber providing the local businesses the PAL will be presenting a series of demonstrations that can benefit local residents this holiday season. Among the topics to be discussed are ways to protect your home and business from intruders and how to protect your child from social media and bullying issues.”

Dominguez said she believed the two sponsors can provide a complete experience for people who are in attendance. “We think it’s a good and informative expo,” she said. “It’s great for business to business to do some networking as well as for the town to come out and see what we have to offer.”
