Residents Go Wild for Wings in Brick

Hungry crowd lines up outside township's newest restaurant

Hungry residents started lining up outside the Brick's newest restaurant around 6 a.m. Monday for a chance to win free wings for a year.

The first 100 customers in the door of Buffalo Wild Wings, which opened its Brick location Monday on Hooper Avenue, won a coupon book filled with vouchers for six free wings a week for a year.

But free wings weren't the only reason people went to the restaurant Monday. The next closest location is in Eatontown at the Monmouth Mall, roughly 45 min away.

"We are known for three things: beer, sports and wings,” Host and To-Go Manager Chuck Wilkins said. “We have a 200 inch projection TV, five 80 inch TV’s and eight 60 inch TVs. We also carry all sports packages and show everything from the Super Bowl to the weekend golf match, as well as all in between. We will also have all pay-per-view events with no cover.”

Along with its array of TVs, the restaurant boasts 30 beers on tap and 16 different flavors of wing sauce ranging from the mild Sweet BBQ to the extreme Blazin’. (Blazin’ comes with a warning “Keep away from pets, eyes and children.”)

They also have four dry rub flavors if you enjoy dry wings or ribs.

BWW is looking to become a positive member of the community as well, staff said.

They will host “Eat Wings, Raise Funds” nights for local charities.

Volunteers with charitable organizations can pass out flyers, and for every flyer turned in on the day of the event, ten percent of the party's bill will be donated back.

Along with fundraiser nights, the restaurnts plans to sponsor local teams as part of its “Home Team Advantage” program.

Currently, they are a sponsor for the Brick Township Police softball league.

"We love Brick," said General Manager Martin Jacoub. "I am from this town and I know we are going to be a good fit here."

“We are looking forward to becoming a part of the community and bringing Brick a new experience,” Jacoub said.

By 6 p.m. there was a 45 minute wait to get inside.

“If you are looking for somewhere to hang out with your friends and watch some sports, we are for you,” Wilkins said.

"Brick has gone wild," Jacoub said.

The Brick restaurant is a franchise owned by AntSul GROUP, LLC. The location takes the space of the former Blockbuster Video location in the Kennedy Mall shopping plaza.

BWW is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Thursday  through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Happy hours run from 4-7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close Monday through Friday, and include drink and appetizer specials.
