Best Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Howell

Here, the Patch guide to St. Patrick's Day in Howell, from the best Guinness pours to the most delicious Irish dinners.

Maybe you aren't as Irish as St. Patrick himself (who was kidnapped and sent to Ireland as a slave, escaped in 409 and returned to Ireland in 432, believing he had been called upon to spread the word of God) but on March 17, everyone's a little Irish.

So, check out these nearby St. Patrick's Day events and celebrations.

The Chapter House

With the Township Council voting to allow restaurants to open an hour early on St. Patrick's Day popular spots like The Chapter House will be welcoming customers earlier than usual to celebrate the day.

The Chapter House will have a free breakfast buffet from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the bar area only that will include scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and of course corned beef hash. There will also be $5 bloody mary's and mimosa's as part of the morning buffet and green beer specials later in the day.

The Ivy League

On the northbound side of Route 9 the Ivy League will also be having a wide ranging festival for the holiday starting tonight. There will be traditional Irish items like shepherd's pie and Irish stew as well as less traditional items like a pot of gold stuffed potato skin and a Guinness New York Strip Steak. There will also be specials on drinks like Irish coffee and green beer during the day.
