The third week of February looks to be a busy one in town as three meetings will be held at night among many other events here in Howell.
On Tuesday night the Howell Township Council will hold a workshop meeting at 7:30 at the new Municipal Building. There are several items on the agenda including a proclamation recognizing two local women involved in the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore.
Another item on the agenda is an ordinance regarding the Howell Fire Bureau. The ordinance had been discussed at an earlier meeting and was met with resistance from the Howell Fire Commissioners. According to the agenda the ordinance will be voted down at Tuesday's meeting.
After canceling their meeting last week the Howell Board of Education is scheduled to meet again on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Middle School North with a full agenda to discuss.
Part of the night will include former board members Patrick Dowling and Joseph Moscato Jr. Dowling was unsuccessful in his reelection bid while Moscato opted against seeking another term. Other recent discussion items at board meetings have included full day kindergarten for the district as well as school safety.
The Howell Township Planning Board also has a meeting scheduled for Thursday night at 7 p.m. The board has one of its fullest agendas of the year with four resolutions to be adopted, a submission waiver by an applicant on Cranberry Road, two extensions of time and a planned public hearing.
