Council Meeting Set for Tonight

Five things to know for Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011

1. The National Weather Service is predicting a sunny day today, but by the time the sun sets there could be a drastic shift in the weather. The high for Tuesday should be around 69 degrees with only a light wind. By tonight that should drop down to 56 and should bring the start of a day long rain storm. There could be as much as two inches of precipitation before the rain lets up.

2. The Howell Rebels should have a busy day today with the tennis team heading to Raritan, the field hockey team hosting Point Pleasant Borough and the gymnastics team welcoming Red Bank Catholic to town.

3. The Township Council is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 at town hall. Charles Sampson, the superintendent of the Freehold Regional High School District is scheduled to appear as part of the agenda. There is also scheduled to be a discussion of the township's strategic plan which could be particularly interesting as the town prepares to move into the Global Building sometime in 2012.
