Five Thing to Remember on this Grey Monday Morning

There's still plenty to do around town this week despite a threat of rain

1. You may have woken up today and not seen a lot of sunshine streaming through your windows, but that should all change as the day goes on. The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly sunny day with temperatures possibly climbing into the mid-70's.

Sometime late tonight or early tomorrow morning that will turn to rain with temperatures dropping into the 50's. The rain figures to continue all through Tuesday and at least most of Wednesday before the sun comes back on Thursday.

2. If you're looking for options for dinner on Tuesday, you might have the chance to have a good meal and help your local school at the same time. From 5 to 10 p.m. the Cabin on Route 33 will be donating 20 percent of food sales to the Griebling School.

Also on Tuesday night, the Land O'Pines School will be holding a fundraiser at the Friendly's in the Freehold Mall from 5 to 8 p.m.

3. This week also marks the end of the budget presentations by the Howell Township Board of Education. On Tuesday night there will be meetings at Memorial Middle School, Greenville School and the Ardena and Newbury Schools. All those meetings start at 7 p.m.

The final meetings scheduled are set for Wednesday morning, starting at 9:30 at Middle School South, followed by a 10 a.m. meeting at Land O'Pines.

4. The Howell Rebels figure to have a busy week ahead and that starts today. The softball team is hosting Holmdel while the baseball team welcomes CBA to town and the girls lacrosse team welcomes the Brick Dragons to town.

The girls lacrosse team is also scheduled to face division rival Freehold Township at home tomorrow afternoon, while the baseball and softball teams figure to have a battle on their hands Wednesday when they are slated to take on their counterparts from Middletown North.

5. It's a pretty light week for meetings this week. The biggest exception is the zoning board meeting set for tonight. The biggest item on the agenda is the application from T-Mobile to build a 120 foot monopole on the Christ Church property.
