Five Things You Can Look Forward To In The Week Ahead

Meetings, plant sales and more should make for a busy week

1. If you're still looking for something to buy for mom this week, Boy Scouts in Howell will be having a plant sale at various locations along the Route 9 corridor. This is the second time the boys will be selling their wares after a successful three-day event Easter weekend.

2. Looking to enjoy the outdoors on mom's special day? Allaire State Park might be just the place as they host a Spring Railroaders Expo featuring tours, talks and more. A wide variety of trains will be on display and rides are available every half hour. The cost to attend is just $5 per person.

3. There are plenty of meetings to go to this week, starting on Monday with a Zoning Board meeting at 8 p.m. The full agenda can be seen here.

4. This will also be a busy month for the Town Council. They have their workshop meeting scheduled for Tuesday  at 7:30 p.m., followed by a special meeting on the Global property next Tuesday, and their regular business meeting on the 24th.

The council has not met in more than a month so the agenda is understandably on the long side.

5. The Howell Township Public Schools Board of Education meeting that was originally scheduled for Wednesday night has been moved to Thursday night. The meeting will also be the first for the newly elected board members. Starting time for the meeting is set for 8 p.m.

Stephen M. Levine, Al Miller and John Van Noy will take their seats on the board for the first time on the heels of a night that saw the proposed budget pass by a considerable margin.
