Five Things To Look Forward To This Weekend

It should be a beautiful winter weekend in Howell

1. This should be a great weekend to get outdoors, especially during the day. After weeks of snow and rain and other unpleasant precipitation this is the time to get out of the house a little. The National Weather Service says the temperatures for Saturday and Sunday should be in the mid 40's. It might be a little windy, but it could be great kite flying weather.

2. Howell wrestling fans should be in for a treat tonight when their Rebels travel to Jackson Memorial for the Central Jersey Group IV Championships. The Jaguars are the top seed in the bracket and finished second in the Shore Conference after being upset by Southern Regional in the conference tournament. Next week starts the individual tournaments regardless of tonight's results.

3. This will be a busy night for Howell athletics. The girls team welcomes Wall to town tonight at 5:30, while the boys will play at Wall at 6:30.

4. The battle of the Monmouth County basketball teams should be exciting, but it is the Rebel hockey team that should have an interesting game tonight. They are scheduled to travel to Hackensack for a 7:30 dropped puck. They will then take on Manalapan tomorrow night.

5. After no meetings this past week, there will be plenty of opportunities for Howell residents to see their governing bodies in action next week. That starts with a zoning board meeting on Monday, A council meeting on Tuesday and a board of education meeting on Wednesday.
