Five Ways to Help the Environment At Home

There are a few simple things you can do to help the environment and your wallet all at the same time

1. When the light bulbs in your house blow out, consider replacing them with compact fluorescent light bulbs. They can be properly recycled at stores like Home Depot and will last considerably longer than the standard bulbs. Their squiggly shape also gives them a little extra excitement than the ones you might be used to.

2. There are also toilets and faucets that use less water which can save on your water bills while also cutting down on the amount of water wasted with each usage.

3. Along those same lines, high efficiency washers and dryers serve the same purpose and come in a variety of shapes and sizes that can fit the needs of most any household from the smallest apartments to the largest houses.

4. When the weather is not too hot and not too cold, something as simple as leaving the windows open while you are home can cut down on your electric bills and allows you to enjoy nature from the comfort of your own house.

5. One of the best and easiest things you can do to help the environment from home is to recycle. Most things can be recycled from home, but some of the bigger ticket items might have to be taken to the township recycling center. But the trip is worth it to help protect the planet.
