Heat and Weather Advisory in Effect Today

According to the National Weather Service, a heat and weather advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight.

A heat advisory and hazardous weather advisory has been issued for Howell.

According to the National Weather Service, from noon until 8 p.m. tonight, there is a strong possibility of severe thunderstorms including heavy rainfall, possible flooding, and small hail.

Temperatures are expected to remain near 96 today with a heat index value measured near 103.

The hazardous weather advisory explains that storms that happen today could possibly affect Friday. Despite the storms, the heat index for Friday is currently expected to range between 95 and 100 degrees.

There is some relief in sight for the weekend with temperatures expected to drop to around 86 on Saturday with a 50 percent chance of showers. Saturday night there is a 40 percent chance of rain with a low around 69. Sunday's forecast brings only a 30 pecent chance of rain with temperatures back in the mid-80's.
