As the Labor Day weekend winds down there are some delays on the roads in the Jersey Shore area, but not many as of 4 p.m.
According to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, there are delays reported on the northbound side of Exit 91 reaching all the way to the Monmouth Service Area. That seven mile delay is being attributed to volume on the roadway.
There are also delays reported on the Parkway north south of exit 77 that stretches to Exit 81. The five mile stretch is also being impacted by volume as visitors return to their homes from the long weekend.
Also in the Ocean County area there is heavy traffic being reported on Route 72 west near the Parkway in Stafford Township. With a large amount of people getting off the highway it is making for more traffic on the local roads.
There are no significant delays in the northern part of the state or on the New Jersey Turnpike but that could change as the evening goes on.
