Lots of Rain is on the Way

1. The National Weather Service is predicting a high temperature of 63 degrees today with a low of 45 heading into tonight. Unfortunately, the NWS is saying this could be our last time to see sunshine until the end of the week. 

The rain could start tomorrow night and run straight on to Friday. The temperature could also drop down to 50 by the time the week is done. 

2. The Howell Township Library is hosting an environmental discussion tonight at 7 p.m. for those looking for an activity at night. The event is being hosted by Frank Popper a professor at the Bloustein School of Public Policy and Planning at Rutgers University. It is the second part of the event but is open to everyone. 

3. The township will begin hosting Halloween activities tomorrow with the annual Halloween Spooktacular. The event is supposed to be at Oak Glen Park but could be moved to the Recreation building if it rains. Then, on Friday night the PAL will host a Halloween Party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for elementary school students and 7:30 to 10 for middle school students. Both parties will be at the former Southard School. The PAL will also be hosting its Trunk or Treat Fundraiser on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chick-Fil-A as well. 

4. The only municipal meeting on the agenda this week is the planning board which has a full slate of hearings and applications to consider as they wrap up what has been a very busy month. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and the agenda can be found here.

5. Residents are reminded that Asbury Ave. is closed for construction this week. Depending on the weather the road could be closed as long as 10 days. Next week work is scheduled to begin on Merrick Rd.
